Solution IP > Solution IP Sponsor Gorilla Conservation Initiative
The team at Solution IP have become proud sponsors of the “Going Gone Gorilla” organisation supporting the gorilla conservation in Cameroon.
In the year that Bristol Zoo Gardens celebrates its 175th anniversary, Wow! Gorillas has brought a world-class mass public art event to the streets and parks of Bristol this summer. Solution IP and a small group of businesses have sponsored one of large gorilla statues featured on the recent BBC News article and in the Bristol Evening Post.
Going Gone Gorilla has been created to draw attention to the plight of the Gorilla from the Bush meat trade. The sculpture has been covered with writing and then painted with a heat sensitive paint that be- comes transparent when warm, revealing the messages. Visitors can place their hands on it to leave an impression and then watch it vanish – this acts as a stark reminder of the gorillas alarming disappearance in the wilds.
As many as 800 Gorillas are killed in Cameroon every year and estimates of as many as 3,000 a year across Africa. Going, going, gone?
Commenting on the sponsorship, Solution IP Development Director, Patrick Lincoln said, “We are hoping that raising awareness of the plight of gorillas across Africa, will raise significant funds to support gorilla conservation projects and Bristol charity Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
